Welcome to Good Shepherd

Flood Relief Collection!!!

For many children, school is one of the few constants in their lives. It is a place where they see their friends, where they learn, and where they learn to interact with the world around them. For the students at Baton Rouge Lutheran School, it is also a place where they come together to learn about God’s plan for salvation through Jesus. When school is interrupted because of a natural disaster, the lives of these children are interrupted, and a sense of normalcy is lost.

During the floods in Louisiana, Baton Rouge Lutheran School was not damaged. But the lives of many of their students were, and all of their students have been impacted in some way.

This Sunday (8/28/2016) Good Shepherd Lutheran Church will take a special collection and will donate all designated offerings to the LCMS-Southern District’s efforts to help the children affected by this disaster. The Southern District will use all donations to help these children, and their families so that they can return to school, fully equipped, and so they can have some sense of normalcy restored in a world that has turned upside down..

If you wish to contribute, we will have baskets in the fellowship hall for cash donations. For check donations please make the check out to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and state that this is for Student Flood Relief. ALL designated  proceeds will go to the Southern District where they will ensure all monies collected go to those in need of help.

In addition, Good Shepherd Lutheran School will be donating all first quarter offerings to this same effort. If you wish to participate through the school please see the schools page.

Thank you, and God’s blessings,

Pastor Jim d’Entremont
